Well, it had happened; he and Pinky had finally been caught.

Jak sat in the defendant's box, looking around the courtroom with interest. He'd never been court-martialed before.

Usagi nodded, "Now I bet you twenty to one we find you guilty!"

Jak shook his head sadly. "It's no use. I even offered to pay as high as two dollars, but I no could get someone to defend me."

"My friends; this man's case moves me deeply." The rabbit crawled ontop of the bench, jumping over the table.

"Look at Chicollini," he motions to Jak, "he sits there alone...an abject figure."

Jak looked up. "I abject!"

Usagi stared at Jak before turning back to the court, "I say look at Chicollini, sitting there- a pitiable object." He looked at Jak, "Let's see you get out of that one!"

He faces the court again, "Surrounded by a sea of un-friendly faces!!!"

"Chicollini! Gimmie a number from one to ten!"

Jak thought for a moment. "Eleven!"

"Now I ask you one. What is it has a trunk, but no key, weighs two thousand pounds, and lives in a circus?"

"That's irrelevant!" The official barked.

"'Relephant!' Hey, that's the answer!" Jak nodded sagely. "There's a whole lot of 'relephants in the circus."

"That," the official sighed, "is the sort of testimony we can eliminate."

Jak nodded again. "That's fine, I'll take some."

"You'll take what?"

"Eliminate. A nice, cold glass of eliminate." He turned to Usagi. "Hey, Boss, I'm goin' good, eh?"

Usagi stared at Jak for a moment before turning his attention to the court, "Gentlemen- Chicollini here may talk like an idiot, and look like an idiot- but don't let that fool you...he really is an idiot."

"I implore you! Send him back to his father and brothers, who are waiting for him with open arms in the penitentiary." He looked back at Chicollini, "I suggest we give him ten years in Levenworth or eleven years in Twelveworth."

Jak shook his head. "I'll take five and ten in Woolworth."

Usagi looked down at Jak, "I wanted to get rid of habeus corpus- but I should have gotten rid of you instead."



"I object too!"

"I object, too!" Jak chimed in.

"You're on trial!" The official retorted. "You can't object!"

"Your Excellency!"

Usagi turned as a messenger came into the room- running up to the rabbit with a salute.

"General Copa has said that Sylvanian Soldiers are about to land on Freedonian soil! THIS MEANS WAR!!!"

Jak perked up. "Hey, I got an uncle who lives in Taxes!"

"No, you fool!" the officiant nearly screamed. "I'm talking about taxes, money, dollars!"

"Dollars! That's where my uncle lives! Dollars, Taxes!" Jak laughed. He was enjoying this.

Usagi shook the other mans hand, startled by a trumpet fanfare, he looked at Jak, "More bad news..."

Mrs. Teasdale walks in after a company of guards, Usagi shakes his head, "See what'd I tell you. What's on your mind babe?"
